POLICE OFFICERS CLEARED OF CIVIL LIABILITY IN ALLEGED MURDER COVER UP CONSPIRACY

Published: March 14, 2018

The body of Plaintiff's mother was discovered floating in the Detroit River in Ontario, Canada approximately two months after she had gone missing.  In a $100,000,000.00 lawsuit, Plaintiff sued the investigating police officers from the City of Grosse Pointe Woods and the City of Grosse Pointe Farms, alleging that Plaintiff's mother was murdered and that the individual police officers conspired with the killer to cover up the killing and that such an agreement amounted to a state created danger.  After nearly three years of litigation, the Court granted summary judgment in favor of all Defendants, ruling that Plaintiff had failed to put forth evidence of the alleged conspiracy and that Plaintiff failed to present evidence that the Defendants placed Plaintiff in danger.  The City of Grosse Pointe Woods and the Defendant police officers were represented by McGraw Morris P.C. attorneys G. Gus Morris and Christopher J. Raiti.
