Emily Horsfield began her legal career in 2006 and has maintained a civil litigation practice since that time. Her practice is focused primarily on defending employers in employment and labor disputes that involve age, sex, religious and race discrimination claims as well as Whistleblower, ADA, FMLA, civil rights, breach of employment contract, and wrongful and constructive discharge claims. She routinely defends employers in charges filed with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and Michigan Department of Civil Rights and defends employers in all levels of unemployment appeals. She also has experience defending insurers in auto negligence, personal injury, and life, health and disability fraud claims, and defending companies in product liability and toxic tort claims. She has a keen interest in the legal research and analysis of a wide array of issues involving the state and federal laws of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit, and various jurisdictions across the United Staes, as well as writing legal briefs filed in both state and federal courts. Prior to joining McGraw Morris Masud P.C., Emily practiced for almost thirteen years at a boutique litigation firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and for several years prior to that, she practiced in the New York office of a regional law firm, where she represented clients in a wide range of civil and commercial litigation actions.
